Bòi Antoin Appointed Ambassador of Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru

Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru is pleased to announce that Franklin Dominico, better known as ‘Bòi’ Antoin, has joined our foundation as an ambassador. Bòi, who has shown his love and dedication to Bonaire for decades through his commitment to culture, history, and environmental protection, will now also make a valuable contribution to our work.

As an ambassador, Bòi will represent our foundation and actively engage in raising awareness of the mission and activities of Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru. His long-standing involvement with Hospice Kas Flamboyan, where he has held valuable conversations and conducted poignant interviews with residents in their final stages of life, makes him the ideal person for this role. Bòi’s warm and personal attention, combined with his deep-rooted connection to the community, reflects the care and compassion that are central to our work.

In a further step to emphasize our connection with the community, we are proud to announce that the bear we give to patients after fulfilling their wishes will henceforth be named ‘Bòi.’ This gesture symbolizes the close bond Bòi has with the people of Bonaire and his commitment to vulnerable individuals.

The naming of our comfort bear follows a beautiful tradition. In the Netherlands, the bear is named ‘Mario,’ in memory of the first patient to embark on a final wish journey with Stichting Ambulance Wens Nederland. In Curaçao, the bear is named ‘Kees,’ after Kees Veldboer, the founder of Stichting Ambulance Wens. In Aruba, the bear received the name ‘Osito’ following a naming competition.

We are grateful that Bòi Antoin has joined us. Together, we will continue to work towards fulfilling special last wishes for immobile and terminally ill individuals on Bonaire. With his involvement and support, we look forward to further spreading our mission and realizing beautiful wishes.
